Core Values
Christ Centered - We exist because Jesus Christ has called us to follow him. (Mt 16:24) In all things, we shall seek first Jesus Christ, his kingdom, and his righteousness. (Mt 6:33, Jn 14:6)
Relational - Our relationship with God (Jn 15:5) and with each other is of greater importance than any program or ministry. (Lk 10:27) We want to create a family atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
Worshipful - We intentionally bring honor and glory to God in all we do. (1 Cor 10:31) Our worship is one way we express our love for and awe of God. (1 Cor 8:1-3)
Freedom in Belief & Practice - No creed but Christ. We recognize unity in our shared commitment to follow Jesus Christ and to be guided by God's written word as found in the Bible. (2 Tim 3:16) Yet, we also recognize and respect that we are each at different stages in our journey of faith, (Heb 5:13-15) and as such our beliefs and practices are diverse. (1 Cor 2:12-15, 8:9)
Prayerful - We recognize the priority Jesus gave to meeting with his father in prayer and we commit to follow his example. (Mk 1:35)
Redeeming Grace - We recognize that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; (Rom 3:23) thus as God has extended grace and forgiveness to us, (Eph 2:8) we also extend that same grace and forgiveness to each other.
Hands and Feet Faith - We want to be doers of God's word, not just hearers. (James 1:22) We want to practically respond to the needs of our community and the world in ways that help more than they hurt.
Spirit-Led - The world is constantly changing and we are constantly growing. As such, we want to be attentive to and obedient to the Spirit's lead. (Rm 8:14)
Unity of Christianity - Disciples are uniquely inclusive, believing that we are all One in God's eyes. (Jn 17:21) Communion (served every Sunday) is open to all who believe. It is a living expression of our unity in Christ and the presence of God among us.
