Our mission is to "nourish" bodies and souls with the love of God. One way we feel called to fulfill that mission is through raising awareness of local and global hunger needs. Another is to raise financial support for local food resources and international farmer education programs.

The mission of Hope Builders is to build hope on the SW side of Cedar Rapids, by both drawing public attention to the needs and developing leaders who are "hope builders" who will find creative ways to address those needs. The Curiosity Path

The Curiosity Path provides hands-on opportunities for people to explore ideas, test theories, make connections, and create memories through science, art, and nature.

New Disciples currently hosts The Curiosity Path homeschool classes. If interested in joining the art or science class, please let our church office know.

Hoover Elementary School

Our mission school is Hoover Elementary. We work together to help support the students and staff, whether that be by coaching a little league sports team, assisting with a club, collecting & donating school supplies, or hosting a community resource meeting for immigrants.

Westdale Area Neighborhood Association

New Disciples in partnership with Hope Builders and United Way helped start this neighborhood association for the Westdale area. We continue to support activities that are in line with our mission to nourish bodies and souls with the love of God.

Garden of Hope

Garden located at 5001 Williams Blvd SW. All are welcome to come plant, weed and/or harvest produce. This is a garden of reconciliation, nourishment, community, grace and hope. Once a mission of Cedar Christian Church (one of our founding churches), the We Care Shop is now managed by the Young Parents Network. As these teen and young adult parents learn to care for their children, they earn points. Financial Assistance

Our policy is to help through the valuable resource of relationships. We want to give in ways that help, rather than hurt. We want to be there for people for the long-term. We don’t pay for hotel rooms, but we are willing to help figure out a deposit on an apartment. We don’t give money for food, but are willing to give you food or go grocery shopping with you.
