Thought Time: How would you describe "privilege"?
New Disciples member Savanna Phillips has spent the last 10-months as a National Benevolent Association (NBA) XPLOR resident. We consider her to be one of our missionaries in the world today!
She recently had the opportunity to attend Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington D.C. As a result of her time there she wrote this poem about privilege that has been posted on the NBA website.
After reading her poem, consider how you might articulate what "privilege"* means to you. What "privilege" do you have in this life that others may not have? What "privilege" are you missing?
*"Privilege" - having social, political, economic, educational, or other advantages that others do not have due to one's different circumstances of birth.
