News from the Christian Conference Center
"Our Path Together" I believe we are embarking on an exciting time in the life of the church as we build new cabins, a new pool, a lake, a chapel, meeting facilities and new paths for future Disciples to walk along in their journey in faith at the Christian Conference Center. We began building Summer of 2013. I am excited about "Our Path Together" because: - We build only as money comes in (no loans, no debt)
- We build together in a Habitat style with construction managers from churches
- Attract more groups and ensure lower camp prices with more modern space
- Inclusive and accessible for more people to attend
- Is designed in phases so we can make successes along the way
- Gives all congregations a ministry in common.
As of January 1, 2016, we have completed and fully paid for:
- The swimming pool and Lala Splash Pad
- Tipi Wakan Cabin, sleeps 24 with a kitchenette
- Burright Bunkhouse Cabin, sleeps 24 with a kitchenette
- The Lighthouse Lodge, sleeps 36 with a full kitchen
- College Avenue Worship Center, contains Grant Park Chapel (seats 125), Bright Hall (seats 350 at round tables or can function as an indoor carpeted gymnasium), and a Fireside Room with fireplace.
- We are currently in the process of moving part of our large forest in preparation for the lake. At the same time we are working on grooming the 7 miles of trails and building bridges.
This is truly a Disciples Together project and every gift of every size matters.
